Vegans do not eat any animal product of any kind, eating only a plant based diet supplemented with nuts and seeds. Studies have shown that a well balanced vegan diet can offer protection against various diseases.

A raw food diet on the other hand involves eating no cooked foods at all it is believed that heating food above 116 degrees F destroys the vital nutrients. The food has to be raw and organic and the diet consists of fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts and sprouts. Some of the benefits of a raw food diet include better immunity, weight loss and more energy.

An alkalising diet is one that primarily keeps the body in an alkaline state. Eating alkaline foods increases the amount of oxygen that is carried in the blood which is ultimately good for health. Leafy green vegetables are the most alkalising. Foods that are processed and full of sugar make the body acidic.
